Our vision for Belrose-Terrey Hills Family Club is to be recognized by players, coaches, & families to be the family-friendly soccer club where kids, friends, mum, and dad can all play and have fun at all levels of the game whether it be just for fun or more competitively. We have a strong network of players & supporters who continue to come back each year and, as our members’ satisfaction grows, so do the new members who wish to join our thriving, fun, yet competitive soccer community. We pride ourselves on being a smaller club that can be flexible in its approach and know members more intimately to allow each member to get the best soccer experience. Despite our small size we can pack a punch and are competitive in all age groups we represent with BTH teams boasting league champions, knockout champions, state champions, but most definitely showing quality over quantity. Most importantly, though, our players have fun and enjoy their soccer at whatever level they play at.

Teams from U6-U11 play modified versions of the football known as Small Sided Games (SSG). These games are designed to suit the functional abilities of the players in these age groups and to give each player more touches of the ball. The games are classified as non-competitive and results are not published. This is to encourage team officials and parents to promote player development, fair play and FUN before winning games.

For U12s onwards, all teams play competitive games. Results are recorded and the teams are ranked on competition ladder/table. Unlike most professional sport in Australia the team that finishes the season top of the ladder in MWFA competitions is declared the Major Premier. The top 4 teams then go on to play in a supplementary knock out competition. This can either take the form of a round robin or semi-final & final.

Team size is probably the hardest part of allocation for teams. BTH endeavor to have enough players to cover absences etc and not too many players to make sure each player has adequate playing time. The other key factor influencing team size is the number of players registered in each group.

U12 boys and girls play 9 vs 9 so teams of between 11 and 13 players is preferable. U13 onwards play a game of 11 vs 11 on a full football field, so have between 13-16 players per team.
Premier League Men and Women and AL1 men have squads with 30-35 players with members playing in First and/or Reserve grade. All senior teams from U21 up men and women play a game of 11 vs 11 on a full football field, so have between 13 and 18 players per team.
